Journalist Robert Faires used the words “the psychedelic webs of spiders high on mescaline and mathematics” to describe the work of Ender Martos. Martos is recognized as a modern artist continuing the Venezuelan kinetic art movement. An immigrant to the United States now living in Texas, Martos has worked on projects in Austin, Chicago, Mexico City, and Miami. Colorful and frequently large in size, they are in demand with corporate and government leaders. A recent major commission was created for the Hewlett Packard Enterprise headquarters, in tribute to technology, nature and art.

My Projects

  • Chromatic Passage of Light

    This polychromatic tunnel is deeply influenced by my rich upbringing in Mérida, Venezuela. My exposure to vibrant colors and the geometric tectonic formations of the Andes mountain range scenery led me to try to emulate the awe-inspiring splendor created by Mother Nature. In order to activate this space, my assistants and I worked over 130 hours; threading 35,000 feet of monofilament & hand blending the paint into analog tones to enhance the viewer’s kinetic experience. Simulating the connectivity found in both Facebook’s core values and the Meta Open Arts, this artwork seeks to bridge the open environment with the innate creativity of all who engage with this space. Material: Monofilament, interior acrylic latex, aluminum & acrylic clear rods Dimension: 30’ x 9’ x 8’

  • Graceful Celestial Vernal Equinox II

    Light interacts with the translucent material, traveling through space and time, creating a sense of movement appearing to vibrate or even twist with each step. These vibrations relate to the motion created by this high-tech corporation that emits traveling waves to carry on its own vision and values. Material: Interior acrylic latex, monofilament, & wooden discs Dimension: 4.5’ x 23’ x 33’

  • Rebirth of Technology

    Rebirth of Technology is a tribute to the relationship that exists between Technology, Nature, and Art. It represents a balance of these three essential forces that ultimately shape the human experience and determine our future on this planet. What role should they play in our lives and how should they coexist with each other? This piece is my open invitation for you to actively join that conversation. Material: Limestone, corten steel, stainless steel, acrylic, LED illumination, and native vegetation. Dimension: 22’ x 22’ x 25’
