Overview
Aurora Nova (Begin Again!) 72 W x 72 H x 3 D inches– Acrylic Mirror PMMA
Aurora Nova is a crescent-shaped dimensional mirrored wall sculpture giving hope and encouragement as the idea of a brand-new day, a new start, and the vision of an orbital sunrise can uplift spirits! The spectator sees their own image on the mirrored crescent of the sky on the curvature of the earth’s surface, emanating an orbital sunrise, while directed light to the center sun will create reflections and refractions and a playful aura and light effects where it is displayed.
Goals
To invigorate the space and create a transformative art installation.
Process
Working closely with the fabricator I was able to create files for laser cutting and creating the layered design. The fabricator was able to help me locate the correct colors and materials for the wall sculpture.
