Overview

Glass and metal sculpture installed in Glenview Community Ice Center. This sculpture is 44' tall 6' wide made of brushed aluminum, fused and painted stained glass. Elisa Boughner designed the sculpture and created the glass work. Austin Bader engineered and created the metal work.

Goals

The board members wanted an interesting work of art for the entrance to the Ice Center. I thought of a childhood memory of ice skating in the villages park under the stars when I was a kid. I always wanted to combine glass and metal and make a bold big piece and this was my chance.

Process

I came up with the design and found an amazing metal smith, Austin Bader. He engineered the metal work to match my design and I worked on the glass.
