Client: Konjiki Ramen & Saryo

Overview

Michelin-starred Konjiki Ramen & Saryo Cafe expands its venture with a fresh design to Canada’s premier luxury shopping centre with over 2,800 SQ FT of space. The storefront is decorated with a unique custom mosaic design that leads visitors to the dining space behind, while a nook at the front houses Saryo Cafe for it’s take-out service of Japanese desserts and small treats. A contrast in both textures and colours are a main theme in the design of the space. By using darker elements, it highlights areas in the dining area through the use of light wood panelling and the mosaic, while still unifying the design as a whole.

Goals

A custom printed mosaic spans over 600 SQ FT of the storefront creating a unique design to invite returning and new guests
into the world famous restaurant. The custom mosaic incorporates natural and floral elements found in both traditional and modern Japanese art, that can be seen throughout the entire store. By creating the dining area with a moody atmosphere it allows for the mosaic to stand out and provides a balance in texture to the angled wood panelling in the dining area as well.
