Overview

Livsreise (translated: "Life's Journey") is a sacred place dedicated to the many significant stories of Norwegian immigrants leaving Norway and coming to Stoughton Wisconsin between 1825 and 1924. The art exhibition space is 1500 square feet.

Goals

The integration of interactive digital art is critical to the success of the unique storytelling techniques deployed by Zebradog in this space. The space exudes authentic life in Norway from 1925 through the turn of the century. The goals were to create a seamless transition between 150 year old artifacts and new century media. The authenticity must be the same. The sole must relate to both old and new.

Process

Architect, illustrator, graphic artist, content developer, researcher, user interface designer, media developer and millworker all coming together to deliver an integrated story of destiny, risk, love, sorrow, passion and survival. It took 18 months to research, write, design and execute the story of 100 years of emigration to America.

Additional Information

"This is the best interrelation between artifact, art and culture I have seen," Ellsworth Brown - Executive Director - Wisconsin Historical Society
