Overview
Rebirth of Technology is a tribute to the relationship that exists between Technology, Nature, and Art. It represents a balance of these three essential forces that ultimately shape the human experience and determine our future on this planet.
What role should they play in our lives and how should they coexist with each other? This piece is my open invitation for you to actively join that conversation.
Material: Limestone, corten steel, stainless steel, acrylic, LED illumination, and native vegetation.
Dimension: 22’ x 22’ x 25’
Goals
To create a sculpture that will serve as a powerful visual reference point and inspire visitors and employees.
To create a piece that has the potential to become an iconic cultural touchpoint for the company as well as the local area.
To create a sculpture that merges from the Texan Soil of the site seamlessly, built with regional materials that emphasize the genesis of a new type of technology for humankind.
Process
This outdoor piece involved several conversations and the knowledge, and experience of many professionals in different fields. These collaborators are in areas such as architecture, structural engineering, electrical engineering, stone masters, landscaping designers, metal fabricators, and a multidisciplinary design firm to translate my vision into a tangible piece to bear with the different conditions of mother nature in Texas.
