Overview

Over scaled flower garden for an Elementary School. I created this mural in a patterned style to match their color palette. I thought a garden was an apt metaphor for growing, curious young minds. This two wall mural is 16 ft tall, with a large wall being 60 ft wide and a smaller at 12 ft wide. Made with acrylic paint and a UV protectant.

Goals

This was an open call which I submitted a design for and was selected. This school had a beautification budget which included murals. I matched the colors to the school's specific color palette.

Process

First was having my design approved and selected. The school was undergoing a massive expansion and buildout so I worked with them and their contractors involving timeline, location of material storage, and where my lift could be located. Initially it was only one wall but it expanded to a second wall.

Additional Information

The client was extremely pleased with the end result as was I. I only wish there had been extra budget so I could have extended my mural onto the ground as well as the canopy to make an immersive experience. The client did add on small mural in their library which overlooks the two large walled mural.
