Overview
Session Kitchen was inspired by the ‘sessions’ and the ‘flow and motion’ found in the cultures of action sports, music and street art. Hundreds of recycled florescent bulbs act as diffusing shades clustered around custom made controlled LED light strips. The LEDs have been programed to act as a video wall.
Goals
The Ceiling Element was designed as both a light fixture and a mood generator with videos, shapes and colors projecting across the 40 foot long bar. The colors, speed and projection can all be controlled by a custom tablet app giving the ability to manage the piece based on the time of day and vibe of the crowd.
Process
Bldg. Collective had a vision and Jen Lewin Studio made it a reality. Experts in LED and lighting design and fabrication, Jen Lewin Studio took this initial vision and created a fully functional installation.
