Overview
Series of commissions for the 240 million GBP town centre redevelopment \'The Lexicon\' across 580,000 sq ft. Including; vitreous enamel cladding of substation, 36 x granite and brass paving stones, 15 x gobo lights, 5 jesmonite benches, 3m cast plant light beacon, wind mitigation screen, 5 x brass lanterns and window vinyls.
Goals
I wanted to celebrate the diverse habitats for flora and fauna found across the borough and so looked to integrate nature across the space. My work for this development functions as a treasure trail, with residents and visitors exploring the space to discover and 'collect' all the plants and animals.
Process
This redevelopment required a very large team including; architects, developers, local authorities, landscape architects, multiple clients, urban designers, planners, contractors, fabricators, community representative, engineers and a wide range of specialists. I work with international fabricators to realise my designs but I am the sole artist on all of my projects.
