Overview

Moran / Brown was commissioned to create a 19′ w x 8.5′ h copper wall sculpture for the Setai Fifth Avenue. The Setai Fifth Avenue is a 5 star luxury hotel in the heart of Manhattan. We provided the large built in wall artwork for behind the reception desk in the main lobby.

Goals

The Interior Design Firm, DAS Concepts wanted to incorporate a large artwork with a reflective surface to help magnify the size of the lobby. The designer also wanted artwork that would lend a feeling of spaciousness, luxury and serenity to the lobby, creating a refuge from the energy of the city outside.

Process

DAS concepts principal Francisco Jove saw our artwork exhibited at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show in NYC. The firm contacted us a few weeks later with a proposal for the commission. They had suggestions of color based on our palette of metallic yellow, green/golds and aqua hues. We provided numerous renderings for a design and they chose the final design.
