Overview

The Voyage Video Installation was installed at Montefiore Medical Center, New York. The Voyage was installed in the Emergency Department at the state-of-the-art, newly renovated facility in New Rochelle, New York. The Voyage Video Installation is now part of the permanent collection at Montefiore Medical Center, New Rochelle, New York.

Goals

The Voyage is a metaphorical exploration paralleling the importance of life in all its forms. This film is about the existence of magic and enchantment that surrounds us; the connectedness of all life forms. Curator Olivia Davis thought The Voyage Video Installation was meditative and healing. It would be a perfect fit for Montefiore Medical Center.

Process

I was introduced to Curator Olivia Davis through CODAworx. I had just completed The Voyage Video Installation. Olivia thought it would be perfect for Montefiore and wanted to select the perfect location. The New Rochelle Medical Center, Emergency Department, was being newly renovated to a state-of-the-art facility, and we both thought this was an excellent location for The Voyage.

Additional Information

It is very fulfilling to have my work be a part of the healing process and have it installed in a wonderful medical center, such as Montefiore. This allows the art to take on a larger function helping others to heal.
